Builth Wells remain eight points behind leaders, Goodrich in the GB Liners Marches League first division following another big win at the weekend.

The Bulls eased to a nine-wicket success at bottom of the table, Dales (Leominster) with their bowlers again laying the platform for victory.

Dales won the toss and surprisingly elected to bat but were all out for 92 in 25 overs. Tumelo Yeki and Paul Greenway reduced the host to 5 for 2 and they never recovered with Builth again excellent in the field. Yeki, who is proving a valuable acquisition, took 4-19, captain, Dylan McPhee picked up 4-21 and Greenway (1-16) and Tanzeem Raees (1-30) were the other wicket takers.

In reply, Richard Galton and Ezra Tattershall put on 42 for the first wicket before Tattershall was bowled for 15. Galton (40 not out) carried his bat and saw Builth home along with Aled Powell (25 not out).

In Division Two, Gareth Grant followed up his unbeaten double century the previous week with 107 not out as Hay stormed to a 10-wicket win at Builth Wells 2nds. Top of the table Hay put Builth in and restricted the home side to 166 for 8 from their 40 overs. Openers, Paul Rowe (48) and Ian Morgan (18) gave Builth a decent start while captain, Jonny Corzon (62 not out) then held the innings together.

Mark Burgess (2-21), Gabriel Moore (2-26), Grant (2-26) and Huw Griffiths (1-30) took the wickets.

Hay raced to their total in 23 overs with the in-form Grant’s century including the incredible feat of six sixes in one over while Tim Masters (52 not out) gave him valuable support.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Presteigne were celebrating their first win of the season as they beat Wormelow 2nds by 17 runs with Billy Davies (102) leading the way as they racked up 245 for 9 – by far their biggest total this time. Davies put on 82 for the first wicket with Will Bartholomew (24) and Byron Jones (24), David Austin (21) and Alan Stocker (17) also chipped in. Wormelow fell just short in their chase with Owen Jones finishing on 81 not out as Jockey Wilson, Morgan Speed, Byron Jones and Mark Ammonds all took two wickets for Presteigne.

As well as Gareth Grant and Billy Davies there were other centuries on Saturday in the Marches League. Paul Williams blasted 119 not out off 59 balls as Garnons thrashed Ross-on-Wye by 10 wickets in Division One and captain, Ollie Hughes made 118 for Almeley who beat Moccas by 130 runs in Division Two.
