Radnor Valley reached their sixth consecutive Aspidistra Radnorshire Cup final after a tense 5-4 penalty shoot-out victory over Llandrindod Wells at The Bypass.
The two teams had previously drawn 2-2 in their opening league match in July, and Llandrindod won 4-2 in the October return. Sunday's cup semi-final, however, was a tight affair that ended 0-0 after regular time. Both teams were playing their second match in 24 hours - Radnor had recorded a 2-0 win at Cefn Albion, despite being reduced to 10 men, while Llandrindod suffered a 2-0 defeat at Llanidloes.
Radnor had the first real opportunity in the 12th minute when Geraint Lloyd headed wide from Callum Matthews' cross. Llandrindod responded five minutes later with Liam Hall’s drive that flew just wide of Otto Jones' far post. Radnor continued to press, with Matthews pulling a shot wide in the 30th minute and later being denied by a quick throw. Llandrindod had their best chances towards the end of the half - Jack Price was forced to head a corner off the line, and Hall’s curling shot went wide.
After the break, Llandrindod thought they had broken the deadlock when Tom Durant converted a cross, but it was ruled offside. Radnor responded within a minute when Matthews’ shot was blocked. The Spa Men continued to pressure, but Radnor’s defense remained solid, with several chances either blocked or narrowly missed. The best opportunity for Radnor came in the 73rd minute when Lloyd’s close-range effort was scrambled off the line.
Both teams struggled to break the deadlock on a bobbly pitch.

In the penalty shoot-out, Radnor's goalkeeper, Otto Jones, became the hero, saving two Llandrindod penalties. Matthews kept his cool to convert the winning penalty, sending Radnor Valley through to the final where they will face either Presteigne St Andrews or holders Builth Wells.
