It’s panto time again in Builth Wells!
Celebrating 30 years since their first performance, Builth YFC Old Stagers are back treading the boards and busy rehearsing for “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” for this year’s show.
Writer and director of the show, David Price, reflected on the journey: “Where has time gone since we first took to the stage? We then came together to celebrate Builth Wells YFC’s 50th year, and the pantomime “Cinderella” provided an enjoyable means to mark that milestone. We had just lost our son Bradley to cancer, and it was agreed that funds raised would be presented to the cancer charity, Tenovus.”
Since that inaugural production, the Old Stagers have performed five more pantomimes, hosted a Strictly Come Dancing evening, and even staged their first musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. Their efforts have raised an impressive £75,000 for cancer charities and other local causes.
This year’s performances of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” will be at the Strand Hall in Builth Wells on Friday, November 29, at 7pm; Saturday, November 30, at 6pm; and Sunday, December 1, at 2pm and 6pm.
Tickets are available from The Fountain in Builth Wells, Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, or from Builth Wells Library. For more details, call 07974 761309.
