Freedom Leisure, one of the UK’s leading charitable and not-for-profit leisure trusts that manages 29 leisure centres across Wales, recently celebrated success at the annual Swim Wales Awards Ceremony.
The leisure trust was successful in two categories; the prestigious Learn To Swim Provider of the Year and the Sustainability Initiative Award.
To celebrate these accolades, Freedom Leisure hosted representatives from Powys County Council who were delighted to present Freedom Leisure with their trophies and further recognise the achievements of all the staff at the centres in Powys for their dedication and passion in delivering the award winning learn to swim programme that teaches thousands of adults and children the vital ‘life skill’ of swimming across Powys.
Ivan Horsfall Turner, Freedom Leisure’s Chief Executive Officer said: “These awards belong to our centres and our amazing colleagues that work tirelessly to support their communities.
“We were delighted that Swim Wales was able to present the trophies to our colleagues to showcase their hard work and passion that make our centres such valued hubs for swimming and much more.”
Cllr Richard Church, Powys County Council's Cabinet Member for a Safer Powys, said: “We are incredibly proud of Freedom Leisure's achievements at the Swim Wales Awards. Their dedication to providing top-notch swimming programmes and sustainable initiatives is truly commendable.
“These awards highlight the hard work and passion of the staff at our leisure centres, who play a vital role in teaching thousands of adults and children the essential life skill of swimming.
“As we look forward to the summer, I encourage everyone in Powys to take advantage of the excellent swimming lessons available and make the most of our fantastic leisure facilities."
