Crew members from Llandovery Fire Station helped rescue three mature lambs that were stuck approximately three to four metres inside a culvert on Saturday, August 3..

The team were called out and attended the incident at 5.29pm on Saturday.

They were assisted by a farmer and used two long-reach rescue poles, a GP line and an animal strop to retrieve the lambs.

The culvert runs underneath a road and therefore due to the risk none of the crew entered the culvert. At the narrowest point, the culvert was approximately two feet squared.

It is believed that the sheep were trapped in there for two to three days. The crew helped rescue all three lambs and left the scene at 8.38pm.
