DURING the winter months over 30 bowling enthusiasts from North Breconshire and Radnorshire have been making the journey every week to the Radnor Indoor Bowling Centre in Llandrindod Wells to participate in the Monday morning Bowls Winter League.

The event, which runs from October to the end of March is organised by Betty Morgan MBE, has created a great deal of interest and has brought bowlers from as far a field as Kington to Llanwrtyd Wells.

This week at the conclusion of the league the overall winner for the second consecutive year was Chris Ottewell. Chris, who comes from Llandrindod Wells, is a blind bowler and is pictured being presented with the 579 Squadron ATC Perpetual Trophy by Betty Morgan.

The joint runners up were Margaret Watkins of Llanwrtyd Wells and David Davies of Newbridge-on-Wye.
