Brecon Corries suffered a cruel 2-1 defeat at home against Chepstow Town in the Ardal League South East with the high-flying visitors snatching a winner 11 minutes into time added on at the end of the game.

Corries started well and deservedly went ahead with Corey Evans scoring from a free-kick inside his own half. But they let Chepstow back into the game and an equaliser came through through Christian O’Donnell following a mix-up between keeper Stephen Price and Evans.

Luke Roughley saw red for retaliation just before the hour mark but 10-man Corries had chances and defended well with Price saving a penalty from Adam Wakley.

But substitute Malique West won it for Chepstow deep into stoppage time when Liam McAnally picked up a second yellow for Corries, while Chepstow had Both Harry Waterhouse and Wakley dismissed.

Corries are at home against Risca United on Saturday before ending their league campaign by entertaining Croesyceiliog on Tuesday night.

Brecon Corries Youth produced another top notch performance to hold league champions, Newport City to a 4-4 draw at The Rich Field, where a stoppage time goal robbed them of victory.

It looked as if it might be a long night when Newport went two up inside six minutes but Mitchell Davies pulled one back for Brecon from the penalty spot and then scored a second before half-time.

Jamie Williams edged Corries ahead within a minute of the second half kicking off but Newport responded immediately.

Goalkeeper, Ben Bruynseels produced some fine saves and when substitute, Nyle Slade put Corries in front again on 84 minutes they were on the verge of a famous win but City conjured up an equaliser three minutes into time added on.
