The summer of Jazz continues in Brecon this weekend with the festivals third and final weekend set to be in full swing.
This Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 the festival’s 40th anniversary final weekend will be filled with all things jazz, including; music, talks, and screenings.
The weekend’s schedule for The Muse in Brecon is as follows:
Saturday, August 17:
2.00 PM - Welcome and Film Intro - Kathryn & Roger
Film (84 mins) Monk & The Baroness ‘Nica.’
3.30PM - Short discussion.
3.50PM - Music of Monk: Geoff Eales & Ashley-John Long.
4.30PM - Second discussion, including musicians.
5.00PM - Evening break.
7.00PM - Julian Costello Trio performance (saxophone, cello, vocals,guitar).
8.15PM - End of day, (Bar stays open until 8.30pm).
Sunday, August 18:
2.00 PM - Welcome and Film Intro - Ros/Rhydian, Roger
Film (118 mins) Django, Life of Manouche Guitarist.
2.50PM - Interval & Gareth Evans (Jazz guitar performance).
3.10PM: Film resumes.
4.10PM: Discussion, including musician.
5.00PM: Evening break.
7.00PM: Afternoon in Paris performance (guitar, clarinet, keys, db, drums).
8.15PM: End of Brecon Jazz Festival 2024.
