Cradoc Golf Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, buzzing with excitement and determined to mark the milestone in style.
The first celebration took place on St David's Day, when the new Lady Captain, Dr Diane Davies, organised a day of golf, fun, and food for both members and non-members.
The festivities began with a Texas Scramble golf competition, where men and women teamed up to showcase some excellent golf. That evening, around 90 people gathered for a 'Cawl a Chan' evening. Attendees enjoyed a bowl of cawl followed by a Welsh cake from Cradoc’s Fairway Restaurant. The evening’s compere, Mr Viv Jones, introduced Cor Meibion Aberhonddu, conducted by Mrs. Lyn Thomas, with accompanist Ms Becky Drysdale. The choir’s varied and engaging performance entertained the audience, while Viv’s humour and anecdotes added to the fun. The event was a great success, raising a significant amount for charity, and thanks go to the many local businesses that donated generous raffle prizes.
This year promises many more celebrations for Cradoc Golf Club. Events include regular quiz nights, a virtual horse racing evening, an evening with Owen Money, a Summer Ball, and more. On April 1, the club will welcome a new catering team, and the clubhouse will be refreshed with new furnishings, bringing vibrant energy to the venue.
Cradoc Golf Club is looking to expand its membership, both for golfers and social members. Whether you're interested in enjoying a meal with a stunning view, attending one of the club's many fundraising events, or trying your hand at golf, Cradoc offers a fantastic opportunity. The course is in great condition, with spectacular views, and the driving range is fun for all the family.
